The convex mouldings on the outside are defined with varying clarity and are often decorated with rouletting; the bipartite internal mouldings are always carefully distinguished. Applied decoration is rare (and confined to small double spirals). Eventually it may be possible to distinguish details favoured by individual factories or regions but there is much overlap between them.
